I was first in this morning. Too early in fact. Luckily the building manager type guy was around and he let me in. Unfortunately the creative directors didn’t roll up for a while after, so they didn’t see me at 7:45am. What’s that thing about trees making a sound if no one is around? Hmm.
I have a kinda like/hate relationship with the summer. I know I should like it. And I do sometimes. I like it more when I’m in another country. In England it tends to piss me off. Like this morning. I was in early partly because the stupid sun wakes me up at like 5:30am or whatever daft time it rises at the moment. Then ‘cos my brain is so hyper, digesting information in the briefs, I can’t get back to sleep.
There are various other manifestations of my summer hate too: Hayfever, hot nights, summer drinkers (you know the bastards I mean), sweating, wasps, having to buy more summer clothes, oh and did I mention hay-fever? The shithead of all allergic afflictions.
So anyway other people eventually turned up for work. Me and my partner made some progress on our sports drink brief, which was a relief. My poor brain had slaved on it all weekend and when we sat down together some of my thoughts turned into better thoughts. We’ll give them the overnight test tonight and scamp some up tomorrow. Hopefully they’ll still work.
The ghd client is also in tomorrow, so should hear back on that.
The end of the week seems to be looming fast. Today flew by, even though I was in at stupidoclock. A few people seem a bit more confident than I, that I will be around longer than these next three days. My partner seems happy. Hopefully she might have a little say in the matter.
I wasn’t quite last out then. But most of the creative department had left by the time I got on my bike to peddle home. There’s one good about the summer. Much nicer ride to and from work.
